Position : Senior QA Engineer - IxANVL

Position Description

Able to manage and deliver on the technical aspects of a major release by driving the project and team, product knowledge and full command of the related technology. Complete accountability for quality of multiple features, planning and delivery on time
Creation and enforcement of QA best-practices
Point of contact for dealing with customer issue escalations, works with PM/Dev/customers to provide solution to customer issues
Provide regular status and communication to all levels on project and team issues (feature testing, bugs, and special projects), tracks, reviews and evaluates otherĂ¢€™s tasks. Continuously strives to achieve higher productivity for self and the team
Sets and achieves stretch goals for self and the team. Ability to drive, innovate, thought leadership, initiatives and bring them to completion
Provides technical leadership for a medium sized team/group/project
Champions opportunities to advance test methodology and turns opportunities into products; develops new automation harnesses or brings significant enhancements to existent ones
Required to identify software/hardware needs for upcoming projects
Work on bugs: Root cause isolation, steps to reproduce, problem description, proper logs and files
Influence team members by setting examples of technical merit, protocol knowledge, product knowledge, customer sensitivity, ability to achieve stretch goals and leadership abilities
This position is expected to ramp up fast to get into a QA technical leadership/management position

Strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
Thorough and in-depth knowledge of networking protocols and hands on testing experience on L2/L3/L4-7 protocol suites like RSTP, MSTP, VLAN, LACP, Carrier Ethernet MEF protocols, IGMP, PIM, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, OSPF, BGP, IPv6, NDP, ICMPv6, OSPFv3, IPSec, SSL, IKE, KEv2 etc.
Advanced automation knowledge (programming/scripting languages like Perl, Tcl/Tk, Python and automation/regression harness). Able to suggest and implement advanced automation methods
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environment, knowledge of administration and advanced usage of such systems
Strong knowledge about tools (ethereal, Wireshark, shell scripts) and debug techniques; required to provide guidance and coordination to junior team members
Experience working with networking products (L2-L7) of major network equipment vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel etc.
Strong English oral and written communication skills, ability to articulate and communicate technical concepts

Academic Requirements:
Qualification and Average Year of experience
BE/B.Tech (Comp Sc, ECE, EE) with very good academics
5+ years of experience
