Job Description:
Ocarina is looking for an experienced storage software engineer to work on Ocarina's Linux based NDMP data server. You will be responsible for developing a high performance backup engine to protect optimized data stored on Ocarina's Storage Reduction Switches. Good understanding of NDMP and familiarity with various DMAs (Commvault, Symantec, EMC) is necessary to be successful in this role. You will work in a fast paced environment with an experienced and highly technical team of Ocarina engineers to solve a wide variety of unique and fascinating problems.
Responsibilities:
* Complete technical responsibility for developing NDMP support
* Ownership of all NDMP certification issues
* Be an advocate for getting solid designs and implementations incorporated into the product
* Develop, support and provide initial trouble shooting for internal and field issues
Required Skills:
* Strong design and implementation skills
* Expert in C programming language
* Knowledge of file system internals and POSIX file system interface
* Good knowledge of Linux application programming environment. Linux kernel knowledge is a plus
* Demonstrated track record of being a key contributor on successful products
* Startup experience is a plus
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education Required:
* B.S./M.S. in Computer Science from a reputable university
* Minimum 3 yrs of relevant industry experience
